A mommy's thoughts!
I was sitting in the bathroom getting ready this morning when Laken came into the bathroom with his beloved blanket and climbed into my lap for a long cuddle session. If you know Laken, you know he is a busy body and doesn't cuddle very often so when he's in the mood I drop everything to take advantage of this precious time. While I was sitting there hugging him close, I felt God's presence so close saying, "You know how much you love your children? I love YOU even more than that." It is a love that I can not fathom. The love I have for my children is indescribable. I would die for them, spend every dime I have to get them their dreams, drop anything and everything if they needed something, and pour out all my energy, time and prayers to make sure that they are amazing men of God. I can't even imagine a love that is deeper than that. I started to cry when I heard God say this because although I know He loves me, it is little reminders like this that give me a whole new perspective on my precious daddy. I love my relationship with God. He is not this untouchable God that we can only hear about in church. He is my intimate friend, my closest companion, my comforter in times of need and my daddy. My daddy who hears all my needs and loves me more than I will ever know. He will NEVER leave me, NEVER abandon me, and NEVER turn his back on me and I am so thankful that He reminds me of those things when I need them most! I love you God! Thank you for moments like these!

Mems pool party!
Well Colton's cousin Kenneth is getting old ;) and had a birthday party at his house! We had a great time cooking out and swimming. The hot tub was the boys favorite part and Caleb spent all night in there, if he wasn't eating that is... Thank you so much for inviting us! We had a great time and love your new house!

Genetics
Genetics are a funny little thing. Although Caleb is VERY athletic and will be great at sports one day, it is fun to see the differences between him and Shannon. Caleb loves every sport and so does Laken. We posed a question at dinner the other night. If you could play football, basketball or dance (clearly joking) what would you choose. Caleb shouted basketball, Laken said basketball as well and Shannon said dance just as serious as ever. Then he told us that dance made him happy. Although that was totally not in our plans, if you knew Shannon you wouldn't be all too shocked by this comment. He is sensitive, gentle, kind, artistic and totally different from Caleb and Laken who would assume wrestle you than have a conversation. He is going to show us a side of God that we wouldn't be able to know if we hadn't brought him into our family. Man I'm glad we did!!!!!!

My precious prayer warrior!!!!
So we were supposed to find out the sex of this little cutie pie yesterday but she would not cooperate (very modest) and although we looked for 45 min, we were unsuccessful in determining the sex of this precious baby... So for another few weeks I will continue to live in my fun fantasy world of girl land!!! haha And although I was sad that we couldn't find out the sex, I think that this picture is worth way more than that. We don't know whether this baby is a boy or a girl but we DO know that he/she is a prayer warrior and that is waaay more important! My favorite ultrasound picture to date. I will cherish it forever!!!! I love you already precious baby and I can't wait to hold you in my arms and kiss your sweet face. What a blessing children are from the Lord!

Easter!!!! 2012
I feel like all the holidays just get more and more fun the older they get! The boys had a BLAST hunting eggs for over an hour at Pa and Granny's house this Easter! We had such a special Easter that I will never forget. First off I didn't make any plans for Easter because Caleb had surgery on Friday and I didn't think he would be up for egg hunting on Sunday but I was wrong... He ran, jumped, wrestled, and played all weekend long. His surgery went well! Not best case scenerio and we have some other things we have to work out but he is healthy and happy and that is all that matters!!!! So we last minute, Saturday afternoon, called Pa and Granny and asked them if we could come and spend Easter with them. It was so fun to be with just them all day on Sunday. I truly love and value their company!
showing me the candy in his egg!

Shannon ran as fast as he could and collected all the eggs he could find! He didn't mess around with this game. He was on a mission and didn't stop until it was complete! haha
HAPPY EASTER FROM THE CARTHELS!!!!
We hope your day was as fun and blessed as ours! From the words of my children, "He's alive, He's alive!!!"
